What Causes Diabetes Complications

Here comes the heavy stuff — the complications of diabetes. Much of what you are about to read isn't all that appetizing. But plugging your way through this lesson could make managing your care a bit easier to stomach.

So, get ready to learn:

  • What is hyperglycemia?

There are three major factors at play in diabetes complications — hyperglycemia, vascular problems and nerve problems. These factors can lead to a long list of health problems. Some problems can't be seen, others are all too clear — but each can be managed with the right kind of care.
