There's no sense glossing over the facts high blood pressure can be extremely dangerous! Your doctor should be of great help to you in determining a new lifestyle that will keep your blood pressure in a healthy range. There are many medications that can help, along with diet, exercise and resolve. Ultimately though, it is up to you, the patient, to maintain your new lifestyle and drug treatment regimens. One of the greatest challenges for hypertension patients is sticking with these regimens. It can be difficult because changing your lifestyle or taking certain medications may have some slightly unpleasant side effects. However, no low-salt diet is as distasteful to stick with as the distaste of facing some of the dangers and consequences given above. Hypertension is called the silent killer for a reason no matter how good you may feel, don't ever take your health for granted.
