WELCOME to Hypertension 101! This class has been developed to help you — or maybe to help you help someone you love — learn more about hypertension. It's incredibly important to stay informed about your condition, and to make educated decisions about your lifestyle. SavvyHEALTH is here to make that process just a bit easier (and more fun!).
By the time you finish with just this first lesson, you'll know the basic answers to all of the following questions:
If you or a loved one have already been diagnosed with hypertension, you're probably coming to this lesson with a good amount of information. However, if you're just doing some research, or have very recently been diagnosed, then maybe you have a bit more to learn. Our goal in these 101 courses is to offer a very basic overview of the subject at hand. Just to gauge where you are on the whole hypertension learning curve, let's start out with a quiz. Don't worry, no one sees your score but you! So, don't be nervous...the last thing savvyHEALTH wants to do is remind you of high school! This is just to let you know what areas you need to pay extra special attention to!
Assignment #1
Test your knowledge. Take our What is Hypertension quiz to see what facts you've got down versus those you need to spend some time on.
Phew! Glad that's over? Well, whether you aced it, or found you have much to learn, we're here to make sure you get the information and education you need to take good care of yourself and your hypertension. In this first lesson, we'll give you a basic overview of hypertension, followed by five additional lessons that get more and more specific to the cause and care of high blood pressure. We have a great deal in store for you (oh yes, even above and beyond that exciting quiz you just took!), including games, information, interactive health management tools, and more...so let's get started!
