Care of Hypertension

Hypertension is a chronic illness, which means managing hypertension is a lifelong project. Perhaps the most important aspect of this management is monitoring blood pressure. If a person with hypertension does not check systolic and diastolic readings, s/he can’t know what type of treatment is necessary.

For some people, simple lifestyle changes can be all the treatment they need to keep their blood pressure under control. Exercise and diet can both make dramatic changes in hypertension.

Other people may need medications to treat hypertension. Diuretics, beta blockers and ACE inhibitors are just a few of the medications available that can reduce the risks of hypertension complications.
